Group of students and a teacher walking to school from church:
Teacher: Second grade, I know it’s fun to play on the ice but we need to walk together and I don’t have any band-aids so lets walk AROUND the ice.
A Dad is jogging next to his little girl who is riding her bike.
Dad (out of breath): You are one SUPER-bike-riding kid, you know that?
Crying Child: *wailing*
Father: Stop that crying right now. You’re a BIG GIRL and you are NOT going to cry all the way to karate.
Child: I WANT MY BIIIIKE!
Father: You don’t need your bike! Do you see any other girls riding their bikes to karate?!
Early 20-Something Girl: Sunnyside is just like the best fucking street. It’s like…the place everyone would want to live.
A family meets up outside the nearby barber shop:
Dad: We got haircuts! Look at us! We all got haircuts!
Mom: Look at how handsome!!
Dad: The *incomprehensible family name* boys got haircuts!
A frantic couple passes by.
Girl: “Put your arm around me!”
Guy: “I’m trying! I’m trying! I’m trying!
It’s really awkward!”
The Queen of Angels students go to church at around 830am and spend about an hour in there. We can hear some of what these goofy kids say to one another on the way there and on the way out. Here are two from today:
Snippet 1: Girl: My mom says I’m allergic to SOMEthing.
Snippet 2: Boy: I dare you to eat that! (pause) Not really though.
The cats are sitting in the open window of the kitchen, a woman walks by and starts having a conversation with them. This is not uncommon during the spring and summer months on Sunnyside.
Woman: (as if greeting two old friends) HI GUYS!!

(To Buckley, who has his head turned) Hey! Hey Goldie!
